Grandview Heights, Ohio
The City of Grandview Heights,
founded in 1906, is located in the central northwest quadrant of Franklin
County, Ohio, and is just a five-minute drive from downtown Columbus and The
Ohio State University. Primarily a family-oriented residential community,
Grandview Heights offers its residents established tree-lined streets,
unique older homes, and quaint, comfortable, and friendly neighborhoods.
Its Grandview Avenue is one of Central Ohio’s
top destinations for entertainment, exquisite dining opportunities, eclectic
shopping, and a 300-seat movie theater, all within walking distance of a
majority of the residents. Additional educational, cultural, and performing
arts attractions are all located minutes away.
Grandview Heights is noted for
providing comprehensive services in both a personal and cost-effective
manner. Police, emergency-medical, and fire protection services-provided
through a force of 20 officers dedicated to patrolling the neighborhoods and
knowing their residents and a fire department that responds within two
minutes anywhere in the city-are accessible through 911 emergency response.
Updated residential street lighting throughout the city provides both an
attractive ambiance and security for homeowners and pedestrians. Solid waste
collection, including yard waste and recyclables is provided to the
community at no cost to residents, as is efficient snow removal and street
and sewer maintenance. The city offers an outstanding variety of
recreational programs and activities for all ages and maintains 40 acres of
immaculate parks, including a swimming pool, tennis and basketball courts,
ball fields, and a senior center. The C. Ray Buck Sports Park is the newest
addition to the city’s park system. The park provides a softball diamond,
multipurpose playing fields, a play area, and a fitness trail.
Annual community events include
the Memorial Day Parade, Lazy Daze Festival, Summer Music on the Lawn
series, Halloween Fest and Pumpkin Run, the Bobcat Boosters’ Ox Roast, and
the annual Wendy’s International Cycling Classic, featuring world-class
competitive cycling.
Grandview Heights readily meets
the challenges of being a mature community and is steadfastly committed to
preserving its small-town character within one of America’s outstanding
metropolitan areas-Columbus, Ohio. Our ability to provide special and unique
touches makes Grandview Heights, Ohio the community you can be proud to call
